When I think about tackling my study plan for the PANCE, my approach is to break it down into smaller, more approachable sections. I did that by first evaluating my performance on the EORs, PACKRATs and EOC. Over those tests, the top three ranking subjects were ENT, pulmonology and hematology whereas ortho, urology/renal and neurology were consistently my weakest areas. I also will mention that overall, psychiatry was my lowest scoring EOR, and does require more focus on my part. In order to begin my review I will start with my weaker areas, move to the topics that have bigger percentages on the exam and finish with the remaining topics. Attached is the calendar of how I broke up when to study each topic. This is an ideal schedule and is subject to change based on how I feel my performance is. To review I will aim to complete the Rosh questions of that subject, review the ones that I got wrong/was unsure about and delve into any specific diagnosis I am weak in. I will also aim to do UWorld tests of 30-60 random questions every day to help with keeping me well rounded despite my delving into a specific topic. My goal is to complete at least 2 full length tests before my PANCE to help with stamina and test taking. I also plan to listen to cram the PANCE and other similar podcasts during my drives to and from my rotation.
I am currently on my long term care rotation and believe that this plan will aid in my studying for the EOR. I have written that I will take December 6 off, because that is the day of the EOR.
